Down in the dell
I heard a yell,
But ah, it was delight !
A waterfall of such proportions,
It was a fulsome sight.
The planting there was so fine,
It was a favourite of mine,
So full of flowers dancing,
A rowan, ferns and many azaleas,
Nothing there was wanting !
Roses, yes, they were floriferous,
Upon the terrace quite vociferous.
Reds and pinks took centre stage,
And made one feel romantic:
The spirit of a bygone age !
Waterlilies in the pond,
And then the Mill, a step beyond.
Its architecture was quite classical,
And struck a definite pose.
A perfect set for Parsifal !
The house itself, had such views,
Mountains, hills and skies of blue !
The lady of the house I spied
Talking to a companion.
But my gaze averted was, to flowers of daisies pied.
A gardenscape so unique,
Such tall trees of pine and teak.
A lovely river wending through,
And formal layouts put in too !
