Who has switched on the light
chased away the gloom
penetrated the impenetrable
made me feel so soon?

forged a path to sunlight
stopped me going wrong
gave chorus to a thousand birds
Offering their evening song?

fizzed a tepid water
shone rays upon the night
allowed me to see the unseen,
so as to witness this wonderful sight?

whoever it is let me tell you
you know not what you’ve done
you’ve fed the hungry masses from a single crumb
who would’ve ever thought it
you’ve made me feel so great
simply with your casual request
of a second date.
