Light.
you arrive as if invited
lounging your golden heals
upon these sunken sockets
like you own this face!
You have robbed me of dawn
she is cowering, scared
afraid.
just beneath my bed
she shakes me so.
You know you bullied the clouds away -
my sentries!
silenced my guard dog with treats
and lying here
my eyes are now full of you.
You tempt me now with birdsong
my weakness!
then you promise a shadow to form...
or night to fall, soon
sufficient to pull back this blanket mood
And I stir, and rise, and stumble
teased by your Sirens
which stretch thinly across my yesterdays
into this new day
an attempt to make better the today.
