Spring pulls up a chair and plants its legs
in sodden earth
wipes up the tears of yesterdays
with fluff of broken clouds
elbows sleeping birds to rise
convinces dusk to borrow light from the dawn
Spring grasps my hand
drags me through enclosed spaces
overgrown doubt
out
to where this once ended
where starving gardens now feast
Spring sweeps away my ash
tucks me in to blanket beds
encourages the sky to weep my name
for a seed to succeed
and shoot for the stars
twinkling away in cherry blossom heaven
