The Birthday Surprise - IP

I love surprising things. One day I opened my mailbox and found a piece of lemon cake on an antique china plate. The china plate had a bluebird and lilac pattern with a gold trim running around its edge. The piece of lemon cake had a candle in it. Leaning up against the slice of cake was a book of matches with a post-it note attached that read, Close your eyes and make a wish. I’m never far away. I pulled the plate closer and lit the candle. I closed my eyes, made a wish and blew out the candle. When I opened my eyes, there she was. Michelle. My birthday wish. In her birthday suit.

“Hurry,” she said. “Carry me in the house before the neighbors see. I’m fucking freezing!”

It was Decamber.

Michelle is like that. Always full of surprises.
