He tried to stay focused. He had the girl in the red polka-dot dress in his sights. She was on the other side of the street, dancing alone to an unknown tune.
He was alone, as well, and did a little dance of his own. The girl in the red polka-dot dress paid no attention. She never did. So he stepped off the ledge and hurtled twenty stories to the pavement below.
Only than did she seem to take notice. She watched as the hawk dive-bombed to the street below, only to pull up at the last minute and soar into the air, landing on the ledge outside her window.
She opened the window and let him in. They drank frozen Margaritas and danced like it was nobody’s business.
