HELLO MISTER SUN

A lonely Beach Bum once sat alone on some secluded beach looking out over the ocean as the sun was about to rise. He felt slightly stoned as looked at the first glimmer of light streaks in the darkness. As he gazed across the water the slight pink and crimson hues of sunrise started filtering through the further horizon. Then the sun broke through in a bright, awesome and spectacular way as dawn broke over the sea. ‘Good morning Mister Sun’ said he, as he greeted the sky god, rising up in the sky. The sun greeted him back with its warm glowing rays and they chatted through the morning in happy conversation. They talked about the weather, about the sun’s cousins the stars, and his sister the moon. They talked through to midday until the sun was high up in the blue cloudless sky. The man said ‘Excuse me Mister Sun, as I seek the cool shade of this old palm tree, and then we shall talk further about this and that.’ The sun smiled warmly down on him from above, as they kept their intimate company throughout the afternoon, as the day stretched to its close. The late afternoon found them still laughing and chatting away happily as old friends do, and as the sun began to set purple, pink and yellow, the Beach Bum said ‘Well goodnight Mister Sun, it was splendid keeping your company once again, have a good night’s rest and we’ll see each other in the morning to renew our little chat.’ Then the glowing globe turned red and sank into the sea as the world turned black with the first twinkling silver stars in the sky. It had been another beautiful day in the presence off his old friend Mister Sun, as the endless wheel in the sky kept on turning eternally, to the quiet hush of the ocean, the wind and the swaying palm trees.
