Green Leaves

The moon rode high last night,
New friends like fresh green leaves
On branches desperate for new growth,
Silhouettes on the beach of evening
Moulding futures left and right
As they move together, soft forms
Against the rich salt sand,
The crashing sea adding accoustics,
A base to the treble in forte,
Bright colours enveloping dark bodies.
The night is ours for as long as we wish,
Messages from the ether spread tentacles
Inside parched minds in need of monsoon,
But the rain has arrived now, driving down
As feet move and smiles bloom,
The present harmonising with past
And future as the music plays,
Friendships gained solidify in the starlight,
The hope is here, resting between us,
The dark world brightened, the leaves green.
