New Year's Resolutions

Never to be abstinent,

And yet always constant,

Never to let anyone down,

Never to frown at the wrong time,

Never to turn down a party,

Never to lose my job over one.

Always to remember your beauty,

And the love you have for me,

Always to see the world's beauty

Even when its insanity is plain,

To see the kindness around me

Always to condemn direst cruelty.

Always to see through death,

To have the last laugh,

Always to break the mould,

To never fear becoming old,

Always to live life for today,

Never care for becoming grey.

Always to be grateful,

Never to be regretful,

Always to live life to the full,

Never to accept half measures,

Always to see the glorious battle ahead,

And never to say surrender.
