the problem with writers,
is that
they are not as interested
in each other’s work,
as they claim
to be.

for beneath the polite
‘ooohs’ and ‘aaahs’
and the ‘yeah, yeah, i see’
a secret heart,
beats back and forth
with a litany,
of ‘me, me,
me, me, ME.’
