today is a beautiful day.

the sky is open
like a book
waiting to be written;
with rather more
gentle blue pages,
than duck egg white.

some of the leaves
have begun
whispering
secrets in copper.

others, ready
themselves.

Thursday is a day
for the passing smiles
of strangers;
like holidays
waiting to be taken.

today
is beautiful.

and that
is enough.
