When the Atom was Found

The Atom
When the atom at last was found
The marvel of science was hailed profound
We caused it to split right there in two
Even though we knew not what it could do
We looked in awe at the wonderful sight
Electrons and neutrons in splendid flight
Was it not plain, would we not concede?
The universe was mirrored in each tiny seed
Solid matter then became no more
Everything vibrated to an unseen score
This earth, our homes, and bodies too
Are made of atoms. Could this be true?
All things we touch, eat, and see
Resonating molecules of energy
Vibrating so at different speeds
To give us structure and qualities
In every particle of our being
The wonder of creation unseen
Etheric charge in voiceless spin
The orchestral cosmos so silent within
