They left and shut the door behind them. On his own in the garden, Lucifer sat staring at the floor. He noticed a spider emerge from behind a brick and ran across the ground in front of him. Without thinking, Lucifer raised his size eleven shoe and bought it down on the defenceless spider. For a moment he paused and smiled while twisting his foot side to side to make sure the spider was dead. Lifting his foot, he bent down to look at what was left of the creature. It was a mass of blood amongst black bits of flesh.
“God didn’t save you I see. You’re just another very small victim of a godforsaken world.” Just as finished speaking, a blue light surrounded the remains of the spider. Its legs started to move and its body parts started to join together again. Finally the blood rolled back into its body, bringing it back to life. Then it ran off across the garden like nothing had happened.
“Okay Michael, where are you?”
“Hello, Lucifer my brother, I’m afraid it’s not Michael, but me Gabriel.” Lucifer looked up and saw Gabriel’s angelic face shining above him.
“I thought you knew that God had forbidden you to harm any living thing while you were
earthbound?”
“I just had an urge to vent my anger and show that I still have the power to kill. Anyway what are you doing here, where’s Michael? Is he too high and mighty now to grant me an audience?”
“He is giving another important message to someone else, someone who is going to play a very important role in your salvation.”
“Who?”
“That isn’t for you to know right now. I have come to tell you that the message you just received from Mary and John was true. Eventually you will have to meet up with her and the inevitable will come to pass.”
“Yes my brother, the inevitable will happen. And when it does I will be glad when you and Michael and his pathetic army will be begging for mercy with my sword at your throats.”
“Peace be with you my brother. Before I go, I have to instil some discipline in you for attempting to kill the spider. I must remind you of pain.” He brought down his hand and with his finger he touched Lucifer’s wound on the back of his head, immediately causing a vision to rush into Lucifer’s mind. He saw himself alone in a desert. Above him was a blood red sky darkened by the shadows of vultures circling their food below; dead and rotting corpses were scattered all over the desert floor. As the vision intensified, the pain in Lucifer’s head got worse and he could now see a wall of flames making its way across the dunes of the sand like a wave. As it got closer it got bigger and hotter until it finally engulfed him. In this horrific moment the sound of the fire’s roar hurt his ears. The roar eventually turned into the screams of tortured souls causing him to fall to the ground on his knees, covering his ears with his hands. In this moment, he was trying his best to control what was happening to him but the screams just got louder. Then he looked at his hands and the flesh was melting off his bones from the heat of the fire. He cried out and fell to the floor then there was silence. The vision had ceased and there was no sign of Gabriel.

I wonder if Lucifer will now
I wonder if Lucifer will now see the error of his ways, somehow I'm not sure he will, but the pain he's experiencing at the end of this chapter must surely have an impact on him.
I hope you keep writing because I'm still very much enjoying.
Jenny.
