Shall I compare you to a winter's night?
You are more cold and again more bitter:
Rough winds do not cause you worry or fright,
and summer puts sour your icy glitter:
Sometimes the fire in your eyes shines through,
and often I see hints of something dark:
And every unfair snarl that you renew,
A quest for isolation you embark:
But my eternal concern for you will not fade,
nor lose profession of who you've become:
Nor shall I ever think of you in shade,
when in beams of light I hope you succumb:
So long as you breathe and your dark eyes see,
so long lives this, my love for brightness be.
