I CRAVE TO SAVE (I.P.)
By kheldar
- 3758 reads
I crave to save, to stash the cash
To keep it safe inside a safe
Lest I become a wealthless waif.
In anal ranks of piggy banks
I chain my change in small Shawshanks;
While no mean miser I've grown wiser
To the risk of commerce brisk.
Gone the spendthrift days of yore
I'll pass the door to every store,
I'll spend no more what isn't mine
And toe the line until such time
The outlook shows a wealthier clime.
Unless it's a necessity
My shopping trips cry brevity,
Without a doubt it's in and out,
To buy for need not creeping greed,
My wallet says I must succeed.
Once a wonga warrior
For now I'm just a worrier;
By burgeoning bills, by Whitehall's ills
By national debt, by all beset,
I bet my belt must tighten yet.
My "urge to splurge" now "dust to dust"
From boom to bust I must adjust.
