in an unsuspecting instant the living can depart
pain-the uninvited guest will settle
in the caverns of our tender heart
meanwhile death competes with mettle
tears and sighs we've exhausted
neurons that numb the brain
wonders were I the one striked dead
of reality's partial pain
life's goodbye deplete the hope within
but let your worry be not grim
for the Weary slumber in heaven
dreaming of the Eden dream
