Winter Solstice.

Winter Solstice.
Snow, radiant white,
sparks crochet flakes,
lie, calmed.
Icicles drop-drip,
platinum pools set.
Blackbird stares at glaced mirror,
pecks at unwelcome guest.
Holly berries spill,
mash ruby sorbets.
Christmas Roses grieve
summer relatives.
Winter winds whip,
spitefully fracture timber bones
off weeping old Oaks.
Thrushes frosted voices,
strange noises,
cry in Cedars.
Shadows shiver.
Illusionist Robins morph
into rouge rose bouquets.
Death chambered Toad,
entombed,
in crystallized coffin.
Pearl orbs of mistletoe
tremble with kisses.
Sherbet lemon Crocus’s
eavesdrop
from comfy corms.
A Winter Solstice!

Blackbird stares at glaced mirror did you mean 'glazed', – and what is that 'unwelcome guest'? Rhiannon
