FATHERS DAY

I had a sad e-mail today.
It made me cry inside
It suggested gifts for Fathers Day
And showed them in a tempting way -
But my dear Dad has died.
At this same time in June last year
We had bought each Dad a card
And a little gift, not very dear –
As I had done for many a year -
This year it is so hard.
This time last year three cards I bought
For two Dads and a friend;
Now all have gone; who would have thought
This year I’d be so overwrought –
And each dear life would end?
For their dear Grandads our kids will cry
But together we’ll be brave
We’ll wipe the teardrops from each eye
And three red roses we will buy
To lay upon each grave.

This is beautiful, Linda and a wonderful tribute. It reminded me of how I felt when I lost my mum...many years ago now.
Thank you for posting.

Linda, I found this so moving. Having lost my dad
in 2004, at the end of may, to cancer, I could
really feel for you, it's so hard to find words to
express the deep sadness which never really goes
away.
I hope you will find some comfort and try to get
through the day as best you can.
Take care.
Jenny.

Linda, I feel for you
Linda,
I feel for you knowing how much you loved your precious, brave Dad. From everything you've written and from what I have seen of mrskatiehowells comments it is easy to see your Dad was special.
I never knew my father so I don't know if he was special or not.
You are in my thoughts today,on your Father's Day!
Moya
