NEW LIFE (I.P.)

At seven in the morning when you’ve watched a baby borning
And you cannot smile for yawning through the tears
You just can’t describe the pleasure as you hold the little treasure
And you think of all the pleasure that’s to come throughout the years!
And you know your heart’s been captured when you gaze at her, enraptured -
Only God could manufacture those cute ears!
As you look at her in wonder all your cares are put asunder
Just when you think you’re going under, your head clears!
You know nothing really mattered though your life was being battered -
This sweet new life has shattered all your fears!
Now all you want to do is to hold her close to you –
And protect her through whatever strife appears.

Hi Linda,
Hi Linda,
this is such a special poem that I adored. The birth of a baby is the most treasured experience and this is a great tribute.
Beautifully done.
Jenny.

Not wrong there Linda. Our little un has just turned 3 and a little girl instead of the baby we had. Talks the hind legs of her grandad. Great fun though. Glad to hear you're all well.

Thank-you for your wishes Roy
Thank-you for your wishes Roy, she's beautiful and growing so fast. Now 11 weeks old and rolling over for the first time. Can't believe the time has flown so quickly.
I must admit reading this poem and comments still brings tears to my eye. I'm glad this birth wasn't as long as the previous. The suitcase was not needed! Haha
