OPEN THE DOOR MOTHER

Open the door Mother
Please let me in
Before the frost freezes
On my tender skin.
Oh my child I love you
But this cannot be
You cannot enter
Nor be with me!
Can't you hear me Mother
Shivering all alone;
Oh let me in Mother -
I have come home.
Sweet child I miss you
But you cannot stay
Your home is in Paradise
And I must weep and pray.
Oh Mother, Mother
Don't make me go -
I am young and fearful -
I need you so.
My darling daughter
This cannot be
Turn to the light now -
Set your sweet soul free.
My darling Mother
How will I find the way
Without your guidance
From the path I'll stray!
Just one more kiss child
One last embrace
Then you must leave here
For a better place!
So open the door Mother
Let me come through
So I can share
One last embrace with you.
Child, the door is open
I feel frosty air -
But my arms are empty.
And you are not there.
But there's a new star shining
And I hear angel song!
You're with God in Heaven
Where you belong.
