We were waiting on the top deck
Too many people had got on
A woman had entered using the wrong door
The driver was angry
The woman was angry
She wouldn’t get off
He wouldn’t start 'til she got off
We all started to laugh
What is it?
So many people suddenly on the streets
Your work said there’s a problem – come in anyway
It’s electrical
But I have to get to work the woman was saying
You have to get off we were saying
She was really shouting now
We all started to chant her off
Some people
She got off
We all smiled
What is it?
The bus was moving now
but everything was stopping at Camden
My phone was playing up
A young Turkish shopkeeper charged it for me while we had tea
I felt tired
We talked about children and how angry that woman looked serving
The man at the tube said to go home
We caught another bus
Suddenly all these messages
You ok mate? Just tell me you're alright. I’ll come and get you
I remembered how in Brixton once the driver made everyone get off and we all just stood there at the stop – ejected
I rang you
It’s carnage. It's bombs. One’s gone off on a bus just now
We got off the bus
We walked across Fulham Park
We went to bed and just curled up
Then I went to yours
You were talking about love and wanting and how nothing is personal
You looked terrible
You took me home
It was like survivors
When you and I got there I showed you some pictures I had taken when I was little
I wanted to show you my whole life

a really effective patchwork
a really effective patchwork of memories. I wonder if this mightn't work better as a prose piece?
