I'm Just Standing Here
By little chilli

I’m standing here in the shower
Just letting the water pour over my back.
My hair is damp, wavy.
Soft curls forming around my face,
Framing my eyes, brushing my lips softly.
I slick them back.
I’m standing here on the wet tiles
Tracing spirals with my toes.
Bubbles gather around my feet,
Curdle with my tears.
I’m standing here, under a torrent
Nearly as harsh as your words.
Letting the hot droplets beat
My back and
Scratch my arms and
Stab at my pretty little breasts.
I’m waiting here for you.
Waiting for the soft sound of footsteps
In the room we share.
Waiting for your hand to stop the flood
Of tears
Washing me away.
