I need help breathing.
I can't seem to find enough oxygen
I clamour for air, to flow into my cage and banish my nightmares.
I try to whisper your name, try to make you hear.
But my throat is sore.
Your tongue has bruised my mouth
Left me yearning for more sweet pain.
I can't find the lamp.
I want to turn it on, find your hand to shake you awake.
My clutching hands scatter photos, keys, mementos of you and me.
A glass of water crashes to the floor.
Cant you help me?
I need to be able breath.
My chest is piled high with stones
As unmoving as your hands on me,
Crushing me under your weight.
Hold my hand.
Free my lips and let me breathe.
