Shades of the Horizon
By little chilli

It was a black and white landscape.
Black waves brushing the silent beach
Where white sand curled around my numb feet.
That was the night we chased each other with the waves
Where the lake fell away from the empty hillside.
The water swallowed the light from the stars
That were spinning around my head.
My feet in the midnight sand were cold,
Stilettos heels left kicked off by the surf
that washed away your footsteps.
Above my unseeing eyes,
The dark clouds were reflected in the water.
My feet interrupted the unrelenting waves.
The ground beneath my back was as harsh
As your teeth on my skin.
The sky stretched away forever,
The black sun swallowed by the lustful horizon.
Your icy blood bleached my empty skin white.
Grass turns to sand
And sand turns to waves.
Love turns to nothing.
Is this the way I remember every night?
Is the horizon always a landscape in shades of black and white?
Or will the colours find my eyes
When the sun finds the morning?
