Rose's POV
The water had chilled me to my very bones. I was tired and all I wanted to do was to close my heavy eyes and sleep. But I knew that if I did close my eyes, I might never open them again. A light from the distance caught my eye and I turned my head slowly to the side. A boat. They'd come back. ″Jack! A boat! They've come back!″I croaked.
Jack didn't reply. I shook him. ″Jack? Jack?″
Then the realization hit me. He was dead. I sobbed and remembered the promise. I promised him that I would survive. But how could I live without him? Before I met him, I was drowning but he was the one who saved me. He taught me how to live. I had to live. I kissed his hands gently and lowered him into the ocean. ″I'll never let go Jack. I'll never let go″I sobbed.

Officer Lowe POV
″Is anyone alive out there?″
I listened. A splash and a weak voice. ″Come back! Come back!″
″I think there's one over there, Sir...″said the man at the oars. I could hear whistling. It sounded far away but it was there. Then I saw her. Her skin was so pale, her lips blue. Her eyes were red around the edges and she was shivering uncontrollalbly. I held out an oar to her and she grabbed it, dragging herself slowly to the boat. I reached out and pulled her up. I wrapped a blanket around her and made her comfortable. I rubbed her hands between mine and smiled lightly at her. She smiled back.
