In The Mirror

In the mirror I will meet with my reflection
and she will agree that I am an infection.
I’ll try to recreate myself – platonic conception,
but innocence is lost and she can smell the deception
I’m lying, blurring lines,
I’m a confused, distorted spine
I hate everything that is mine.
I’m a liar because I’m not fine
In the mirror I will meet with my mind
and the things she will tell me will never be kind.
She’ll rip apart my image to match what’s inside,
and I’ll polish her reflection to maintain the disguise
I’m lying, blurring lines
I’m a confused, distorted spine
I want all that is not mine
I want everything that’s not right
In the mirror I will meet with my creator,
and she will remind me why it is that I hate her.
She’ll put me to trial and sentence me as a traitor,
her prison is my past, my present and future
In the mirror I will meet with my destruction,
and I will try to shatter her entire construction.
I’ll smash her to pieces but still feel the rejection,
so I’ll fit them back together and become the distorted reflection.
