I just ran over a dead man
there was fire spewing from the exhaust
my blackened windows shut out the light
and I sang while I ran over a dead man
The dead man well he was...
he was funny, kind and gentle
but I sang words of bitterness
filled with ancient twisted hate
I just ran over a dead man
and now I will paint a picture
with false colours, deflecting sounds
you see he ruined the dream of my life
So I ran over a dead man
didn't care of the pain you felt
you should have chosen this side
where there is darkness burning bright
I will not judge I will forgive
you may drive how you like
I will never run over a dead man
for he is funny gentle and kind.
