A Dark Outlook

It has become fashionable
to predict gloom and doom
and for cautious optimism
we can't find any room.
 
The economy oscillates
between bust and boom,
some pundits are saying
that we need a new broom.
 
We are told that perverts
are determined to groom
vulnerable youngsters
for whom danger looms.
 
With the climate changing
we have to presume
that some delicate flowers
will no longer bloom.
 
Poor people go hungry
from womb to tomb
while the rich have more
that they can consume. 

At the unfairness of it all
we can only fume
as we see the champagne
make bubbles and spume.

sad statements , a good rhyme, I still  want to be optimistic and smile.... probably due the rhyme...

I too am an optimist and try to maintain my good humour despite the doom mongers that keep telling me that I should worry.
