Friday the 13th

Friday the thirteenth once again;
you try to ignore it but it is in vain
because you know for sure that
the first animal you'll see is a cat
black, like a dark, moonless night
and you are afraid that he might
deliberately cross your path
and feel the full force of his wrath.
He thinks you'll invade his patch,
will hiss at you and try to scratch.
Perhaps he will get even madder
if he sees you walk under a ladder
or do other things that are foolish.
You are, by nature, a cold fish
so remain composed and aloof,
do not get angry and hit the roof.
Tomorrow everything will be okay,
Saturday the 14th is another day.
