Thanks Nicky. No, I didn't know the original meaning and I am not sure whether I know it even now. I googled pick-a-dilly and it looks as if it refers to a place where cakes or turn-overs were sold. Is this what you meant?

really? lol! well may be...turn-overs were sold -but i knew this as pick a 'dilly'-a 'woman' of the night -the area was a prostitution area, is still, soho. May be i'm wrong, so 'turn-overs' can be our compromise? lol Good business down there anyway! :o)

Well, you learn something everyday. Next time I'm strolling pick-a-dilly I shall wear something sombre and conservative, just in case ... mind, anybody picking me up in the dark would soon put me down in the daylight. Still like this one Luigi, lovely.
