Opposite Views

In 2015 I wrote this poem:

TenThings I Love (and She Hates) | ABCtales

One commentator said: “Now you can do the opposite such as: 10 things she loves and I hate...”.- Here it is:

Once, I listed ten things
that I liked but she hated.
Every item I had chosen
she immediately slated.

Now, I intend to mention
ten things that she likes
but I hate and I'm ready
to duck, if she strikes.

My greatest distaste
is her taste in comedy
and that's the first thing
she'd have to remedy.

I also have an aversion
to sentimental fiction
for which it would seem
she has an addiction.

We very often engage
in fierce verbal duels
over her expenditure
of expensive jewels.

In addition to trinkets
she wears perfume
with a pungent scent
that fills every room.

Swiss milk chocolate
is the sweet confection
she favours to which
I take objection.

She jogs quite a lot
and I think it's unwise
for her to be doing
an excessive exercise.

She says that running
is not only great
but will also help her
in losing weight.

When it comes to pets,
she likes fluffy mogs,
whereas my predilection
is for pedigree dogs.

To help her to relax
she likes to crochet
but that kind of hobby
fills me with dismay.

But what I believe
is her biggest crime
is to enthuse stating:
gardening is sublime.
