How's your life?

Life. How do you wear it?
There are so many ways;
with care or rigid duty,
with criticism or praise.

Do you wear it very carefully
or sling it on an arm?
Are there snags and pulls of difficulty
or of anger and alarm?

Can you see the chances waiting
scattered like pills of fluff?
Or do you brush them all away,
keeping the fabric snug?

Does life wrap round you tightly,
or has it a strangling grip?
Is there room to grow,
will it travel without a hitch?

Do you let it wrinkle gently
with experience, good and bad?
Or do you work to keep it smooth
untouched by anyone's hand?

Life is a gift, my fellow man,
so ensure you use it well.
Don't keep it in a box, untouched,
but air it; and use it well.
