Resolution
Standing on the edge of time,
I look back at veiled shadows,
memories of those since gone,
sepia-tainted reminders of you.
Phosphorous lights up night skies,
clocks count down the seconds,
songs of hope sung in unison,
liminal thoughts of lighter days.
And yet the year now past
loiters, lingers in the ether,
ghosts whispering my name,
faint silhouettes in moon-glow.
They say lest we forget,
everything that once was,
minutes turned to hours,
days forged in life’s crucible.
I promise myself to be better,
to live, value those moments
that make us who we were,
who we are
and will become.

Moving, thoughtful, thought
Moving, thoughtful, thought-provoking, personal and articulate, Paul.
We do need help in such good resolution, divine in particular, which can be asked for.
[btw, is this correct: They tell me to lest forget, or did you mean 'best' or 'less'?]

Written with so much thought,
Written with so much thought, and a poem I could identify with. Those last five lines said it all for me, exactly how I would express my own life.
Reflective and uplifting Paul. Not morbid at all.
Jenny.
