Watcher or Watched

Armoured angel

Do your days bring you peace

or do they bring

lustful wondering

and

listless wandering

as you watch

with age-blessed eyes

feet sunk on

broken heels

And do your nights bring you refuge

or do they bring

the cracked memories

of forgotten freedom

as from behind your rocky

home of broken promises

the roar of insignificance

breaks minds

And, finally, when you find

yourself alone; an island in

the rage of civilization

do you feel like the watcher

or the watched
