The prisoner wakes in his cell
Light shines and I cry
In the darkness the distances change
But with the sun I die
When you left me in the midnight summer
With quiet eyes and softness
I called out
There was no answer
There was no answer
The waves sweep the shore
Like a tired caretaker
Swish, aah
Swish, aah
On the beach a small gold ring
While the palm spreads
And the fire dies
And the eyes speak only to me,
Whispers of love and the dead sounds of the sea
Cosing arround my iron home
While the prisoner wakes in his cell
