Where are you?
Are you still here, still alive?
Your hold on life was always so tenuous.
It was such a long time ago,
Another world, another time,
When life seemed so free.
You walked out of the night
Sat beside me and smiled.
You sat beside me,
I can recall it all as though it were yesterday,
You sat beside me, on a hard red carpeted floor
While an idiot babbled in the corner.
You turned your head towards me,
Looked at me and just smiled.

Are you still with us?
Or have you followed him on into the night,
The way you wanted to then?
Not content to break my heart,
Why did you have to burn my soul?
When the night comes,
You are always there waiting for me,
The pain and sadness will never go away
They can never be forgotten.
