Daybreak

Daybreak found me looking at the mountain tops
Pen and paper clutched like a forlorn friend
I watched as the colours paint the sky
And once again I'm plagued by my questions and the so many why's
And I miss you passed these silent tears
It's a feeling I've became accustomed to over the years
You're no longer there to placate my fears
I miss you as my unsteady hand refuse to write
The wrinkled tear stained paper no longer appear unused and so white
I wonder if it could ever capture any reasoning or plight
My eyes once again search for the courage to pin a letter down
As weary eyes drifts in the direction of the town
Once again I'm waiting for that familiar message beep to come
In the silence that I've accepted
I knew there would be none
I miss you as my week starts
when it ends
There'll be no more I love you Anne
Or how've you been
The messages you can no longer send
And I hope it's a pain that time will mend
Am I happy that you knew the truth
Sometimes I wonder if it was worth the pain
As I walk drenched in the rain
I miss u dad
Wish you could tell me ,then I'll stop feeling so sad.

Nice to see a post from you
Nice to see a post from you again!
You capture the way grieving for someone goes on and becomes part of life - we never 'get over it', just learn to live alongside it.
I think there's a typo in line four - 'plaqued' should be 'plagued'?
