A Great Idea.

I have no problem drinking tap water, we are very fortunate in England to have excellent clean drinking water. I thought I had a brainwave, I asked my husband Paul, "Please close the lid of the kettle before you go to bed, so that I can put it into my little plastic water bottle, that way, I would have had boiled drinking water." We have a kettle that whistles, Paul never puts the lid on at the spout of the kettle, I always do, so that I know when it is boiling. When I woke up in the mornings I would go first thing to the kettle, but most of the time, there wasn't enough water in there for me to put into my little water bottle.
So, on Sunday I had a brainwave, I collect and love flasks, I collect small flasks, and I have many and many small types of cups with lids, all made for hot drinks. I did buy one large flask last year, I loved the look of it and it was practical for Paul, for when we went out for the day. It is the biggest flask that I have bought, since I have been collecting small flasks. It is a genuine Thermos brand 900ml and keeps hot for 24 hours and keeps cold for 24 hours. It claimed to be the "Ultimate insulated, stainess steel double wall." It was also the most expensive one that I have bought it was £20 and worth, £35 all my flasks are bought from the same shop, TKMaxx.
I decided to fill it up on Sunday at 4pm and when it went cold, the follow evening, I would have cold water, that had been boiled. I checked it yesterday evening, it was still too hot to drink! I took it with me to my Mum's this evening and It was still too hot!! I don't know how long water is kept in bottles in the shops, but I didn't fancy drinking it tomorrow Wednesday, that would make it three days, to me that would be old maybe stale water? I wasn't going to risk it, so sadly I threw it down the sink.
When my son Daniel is going fishing with his son and his friend, I make him a hot coffee in my large flask and when he goes to watch his son play football, I make him a flask of coffee then too.
It has it use, but it wasn't a good idea after all, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
