The Cafetiere is broken
when Alex plunged she plunged
too hard. She promised to buy a new one
but we know she struggles with bills
and hasn't even been able to replace

the scuffed shoes she wears to work..
I spent the whole morning
reading about Hizbollah
the abducted soldiers
the katysuha rockets.
When everyone gets back this evening

I will cook them burgers,
play them the new CD
Amazon delivered this morning
I will show them the cinema listings.
Until then I will sit here
googling my own name.
