Tomorrow's World

For me, meeting the right girl
is like one of those episodes of Tomorrow's World
we watched when we were children.

'We're all going to wear jetpacks'
we all said at school the next morning.
Everyone watched the same programmes in those days.

Now when I see those friends
one of us will say 'Remember when we all thought
we'd be wearing jetpacks by now!'

and I look at them
with their wives and children and say
'I just thought it would definitely happen.'
