Ahead On Points

When you take the punches and you stay on your feet

You end up against the ropes but you’re still not beat

You go round after round until the find round

You’re a hard one all right ,

They couldn’t knock you down .

You’re well ahead on points ,

and you’re not down and out

so when the bell rings , there not a shadow of doubt

who had  won ,it was written all over your face .

They start screaming out your name all over the place .
Your swollen eyes are almost  shut and you’re half blind ,.

Back in  the change room your bandages they unwind .

You took hit after hit and you got on with it

you were always ahead on points ,

you wouldn’t quit .

It was hard but you went the distance and you won,

Now you’re on top , you’re the new number one ,
