COVID Took The Olympic Flame

 
Through all the world wars we had they kept going ,

They carried the flame with a message showing

Unison of the Olympic tradition inviting the best

sportsmen and sportswomen

to come and give their very best and compete

to win gold and be the worlds best athlete .,

Every four years every nation made their way

to the opening ceremony that day

with flags flying in a parade passing by

with a fireworks show exploding in the  sky.

History was being made there in that time

as each runner ran towards the finish line

with the smile of champions for all to see

that has now become Olympic history.

COVID came to the world in 2020

and there were no games for all the world to see.

The dreams and anthems of athletes were gone

As the spread of the virus went on and on ,

The stadium was empty as no one came

the year that COVID took the Olympic flame   .
