We played and we prayed.

We run and had fun.

We back flipped and skipped

We knelt and we felt

okay everyday.

 We prayed and we played.

With ropes on lampposts.

we swung and we sung.

The names of the games .

we knew and outgrew .

We walked and we talked .

We thought and we fought

We laughed and went daft ,

We gearned and we learned . .

We joked and we smoked .

From schools to bar stools,

Back when boys were men .

and girls grew up too ,

with homes of their own

to rent time well spent .

With a nod dear God.

silent words are heard .  

days went past so fast

and we’re left half deaf

with our moans and groans .
