 The Great Escape With Gerry And Me

I remember the day colour TV came .

and Gerrys Aunt had one 

We thought it might be a good idea to

go round for a bit of fun     

So that night we went to Estoril

and quietly went up the path ,

We were just in time for the Great Escape

and we tired hard not to laugh

 We looked through a gap in the curtains

from outside in the cold night air

resting on our hunkers at the front window

we had a great view there.

 we had to keep dead quiet in case

they heard us out there

Sure it was great craic .

We felt as if it was our own colour TV

.We shared a bottle of coke

and what a great wee place it was to be .

Gerry and me had never seen

colour TV before anywhere ,

it was just magic  

and no body even knew we were sitting there,

The night was cold and our feet were froze

but we stayed there until the end.

I had a great night watching The Great Escape

With Gerry my best friend .
