Out There
By Paul McCann
Out there on a boat floating beyond where the waves break ,
you can catch a sunflake ,
like a moment that you make .
Sometimes its nice to leave the world behind
like a heartache you can’t take no more
time to get away , walk away .
Escape from the rat race into an open place ,
Where the horizon touches the sky
out on the ocean , surrounded by water and sky .
There are no mountains to climb out there where seagulls fly .
When your far away from the land and the golden sands of another time .
and another place ,
You don’t have to face anyone today
Because you’re out there
in a peaceful place and everythings ok .
The ocean is everywhere and there’s not a care in the world for you .
Its so peaceful fishing out there in the sun
until the day is done and the stars shine down on the water
where nothing really matters except the wonder of it all
and you can see how small
and insignificant you really are .
Just a speck on the ocean with the stars above ’
and part of this cosmos we are travelling in .
Out there it seems such an open space
and the sun so faraway sends down warmth to shine upon the water
Where you can be on a boat afloat
so far away from the city streets
and back yard parties and back packers in beer gardens
where there are fire crackers and fights starting and the only thing left to share is
chaos and headaches but somehwere in the pathos of life you can be out there
where the air is salty air and water is everywhere
out there so far away from land and you can get to understand
the beauty of an open place with no avenues or points of views ,
Just the distant lights of the stars in the sky
As you close your eyes out there and capture a moment passing by .
