The Poet Tree

Far beyond the mist of time
where the sun refused to shine ,
lived a song bird with a broken wing
who was silent all the time .
One fine morning I’ve heard tell
as the foggy dew fell down
Deep in the forest
a ray of sunlight touched the ground .
Mystically a Poet tree
from nowhere appeared to grow
and softly spoke to the world
and its first word was hello .
Finally the answer came
for the songbird now had found
a love song with words to sing
but no one heard that sound .
Somewhere in the forest
there was a wishing well I’m told
that gave out free wishes
and dreams for you to hold .
Don’t you ever wish there was
a once upon a time
when the songbird sang a love song
and the poet tree did rhyme .
