 Remembering You

Never be the reason  why

someone stopped trying ,

or someone started crying ,

or took to the bed lying all day .

 

Never be the reason why

someone’s hair turned grey ,

or someone ran away

with nothing to eat

and nowhere  to stay .

 

Never be the reason why ,

someone stopped singing ,

or someone started bringing

scandal to others because of you

 

Never be the person who

burst someone’s bubble ,

or brought someone trouble

because of the terrible things you do

 

It’s better to be the reason

someone’s inspired ,

or encouraged to do

what they do

and feel supported by you .

 

It’s better to be  remembered

as someone who , helped you out ,

and never had a doubt

about the things you could do

 

 

It’s better to be the one

who reached out a hand

and tried to understand

the hardships

that others had to go through .

 

It’s better you were the reason

why someone smiled ,

or someone felt you cared for them

and that  they could depend on you .
