Act 1 Scene 1

Ella's in her bedroom surrounded by cuddly toys and she's telling the audience about how much she wants to be famous, she's sat on a spinning chair facing the audience...

Ella: (enthusiastically) What I want most in the world is to be FAMOUS! To be amongst some of the most famous people in the world would be amazing, don't you think? I could be a Rock Star, or a movie star, a model or a TV presenter! It would be a dream come true!

(Aiofe enters)

Aiofe: Ella, Mummy says you have to come downstairs now because it's tea time.

Ella: (sweetly) Aiofe? Will you do your big sister a favour? (Aiofe nods exitedly) Okay, you know how you're a big girl now?

Aiofe: Yeah! I'm 5!

Ella: Yeah you are, well... that means you're old enough to LIE...

Aiofe: Mummy said I'm not allowed to lie.

Ella: (convincingly) Mummy's just being mean. She doesn't want us to have any fun, which is why she says we can't do this and we can't do that. She doesn't want the best for us, she's just a BIG meany!

Aiofe: oh...

Ella: Yeah, but you can't tell her what I told you, because she'll be VERY VERY horrible and grumpy.

Aiofe: Okay...

Ella: So you go downstairs and tell mummy...

Aiofe: Yeah?

Ella: You tell mummy that Ella's poorly and you have to bring her tea upstairs.

Aiofe: Why ?

Ella: (whispers) It's a secret...

Aoife: Okay Ella.

(Aoife skips out happily)

Ella: (to audience) I can twist that kid round my little finger. She'll believe anything I tell her, it's because I'm such a great actress, I can get anyone to believe me.
