the fire provides

deepening glow of an ember stick
that lives below as flames lick
the air above just where they sit
in warmth be told a stories stitch

told, woven weaving everywhere
past the plains and down the stairs
in the brains outside the cares
that burn on fuel under the glare

of sun
gone down
to reach
another
to warm
the ground
to rediscover
fields abound
with seeds in summer
and life
unwound
from cogs and shutters

that capture life in rapid frames
and come to life betwixt the flames
that dances once and then proclaims
the warmth is in each other
