The Bully

I hide in a lonely corner of the playground
And wait for the attack.
You find me!
Then circle like wolves.
How you jeer and laugh
Drawing out my tears to collect
Them in jars like trophies.
See you looming over me and wonder
If it will all end now with
Me at your feet.
Suddenly jump awake.
Realise the playground is trapped
Twenty years in the past.
But someone escaped.
You are lying next to me.
Yawning you turn those
Warm, black eyes on me.
Ask what I was dreaming
For I had cried out.
Move in to comfort me.
Your fingers wander the valleys
Of my skin.
Admire the body they once taunted.
Taste the irony on your lips that
So cruelly abused me.
Seems that we were destined for each other.
Strange isn’t it? How we crave
Those who hated us the most.
